Privacy Policy for "Scrcpy: Android"
Privacy Policy for "Scrcpy: Android"
Effective Date: June 03, 2026
ZeroRise App Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) built the Scrcpy: Android app (“Service,” "App”) as a free application. This Service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our Service, including compliance with Google Play policies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the App.
Device Permissions Required
To provide core mirroring and assistant features, the App requires access to specific system features on your device. Depending on your Android OS version, the App will request the following permissions:
| Permission | Technical Name | Purpose & Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Media & Storage Access | READ_MEDIA_IMAGES READ_MEDIA_VIDEO READ_MEDIA_AUDIO (or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12 or lower) |
Required for the Media Explorer feature. This allows you to browse, select, and view local media files inside the App to mirror them. Files are processed strictly locally. |
| Microphone / Audio | RECORD_AUDIO | Required exclusively for the Genie AI Assistant feature. It converts your spoken queries into text locally before processing them via third-party AI APIs. |
| Notifications | POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) |
Required to display active, persistent controls in your notification shade while a screen-mirroring session or background service is running. |
| Screen Capture | MEDIA_PROJECTION (API) | Prompted dynamically when you initiate streaming. This allows the App to capture your display in real-time to mirror it over your local network. |
Information We Collect
1. User Input & Functional Data
- Screen Projection (Media Projection API): The App uses screen capture capabilities to mirror your display. This screen data is processed in real-time to enable streaming to your receiver device (PC, Laptop, or Smart TV). Privacy: This data is streamed entirely over your local network (WiFi or Hotspot). We do not record, store, or transmit your screen content to any external cloud servers.
- Voice Input (Microphone Usage): The app accesses your device’s microphone only when you intentionally interact with the Genie AI Assistant feature. Your spoken words are converted into text locally using speech-to-text technology. The resulting text is then passed to third-party AI APIs to generate responses. We do not store or retain your raw voice recordings.
- AI Assistant Features: Genie AI Assistant relies on third-party Large Language Model (LLM) APIs. Your text inputs are processed in real-time and are not stored or harvested by ZeroRise App Studio.
- Media Explorer (Storage Access): As outlined in the permissions table, the App reads local images, videos, and audio files to offer a media discovery dashboard. These files are accessed locally and are never uploaded, monitored, or stored by us.
2. Log Data
If the app encounters an error, diagnostic information may be collected via third-party SDKs (e.g., crash logs, device type, OS version, app configuration, IP address, and usage statistics).
3. Automatically Collected Data
Some third-party services may automatically collect:
- Device identifiers
- Advertising IDs
- Basic analytics and performance data
Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services for functionality, analytics, advertising, and AI features. These services may collect information under their own privacy policies.

Data Retention & Deletion
ZeroRise App Studio does not store user inputs, microphone recordings, screen captures, or media library data on any server. All processing happens locally or in real-time transit through third-party APIs.
Because we do not store your data, there is nothing to delete from our internal systems. However, you may still submit an inquiry or confirmation request to us at: nasir.zerorise@gmail.com. We will happily confirm that no data is held and guide you if you need to request identifier deletion from third-party advertising or analytic partners.
Cookies
The App itself does not use cookies. Some third-party SDKs or advertising APIs may use cookies or advertising identifiers to track ad performance. You may reset or disable your advertising ID inside your Android system settings.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent digital consent age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover a child has inadvertently provided us with data, we will wipe it immediately.
Security
We implement commercially acceptable security measures and utilize secure local network protocols for screen mirroring. However, no method of digital transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted directly on this page with an updated Effective Date.
